The Chief
Russ is a life-long Jackson County resident. Russ’ law enforcement experience spans more than 30 years and is garnered from the military, several local law enforcement agencies, and in loss prevention for a large corporation. Russ received a degree in criminal justice from Michigan State University, and completed studies at Jackson College’ police academy.

Russell’s tenure with Spring Arbor began in 1991, and he was promoted to chief in 1999.

Continuing education and training are high on Russ’s priority list, not only for himself but also for the department’s officers.
